d3, Dubai Design District Digital Strategy
How do you take the design district of one of the world's most vibrant cities to a whole new digital level?
It all starts with a robust digital strategy. Dubai Design District, also known as d3, appointed Prototype to create a holistic digital strategy that would position the business park as the leading design destination in the world. Achieving this required us to understand their business, objectives, audience, and customers in full detail.
The vision of d3 is to create a seamless customer experience that aids the day-to-day needs of the community. Therefore they required an aesthetically led digital strategy that would help the d3 community reach its potential online.
To create a refined digital strategy for d3, we conducted user research and spoke directly to people from the community, which provided a clear and defined action plan for meeting the d3 vision.
The Journey: Gather
Using our DSX program, we were able to create a full picture of the current state of d3, understand their pain points, and create a strategic roadmap for the next two years. This included:

During this phase we focused on research, benchmarks, and audits of the digital ecosystem of d3 to identify gaps and opportunities that would help to support the overall vision of d3.

The result was an in-depth plan for d3 on how to transform digitally over the coming 2-3 years while focusing on generating more value, higher efficiency, and optimizing their digital processes. However, we didn't stop there; Prototype was further appointed to create a brand new website for Dubai Design District. The site had to cater to different audiences and in creating a more personalized experience. By combining the right technology with a thorough strategy, we were able to help d3 in delivering a world-class digital offering, communicate more efficiently with their customers, and optimize their operations.
