Oman Insurance Company (PSC), or OIC, is one of the leading insurance providers in the Middle East, headquartered in Dubai, UAE.
OIC has 15 branches including the Head Office-Operational Branch and a strong presence in every Emirate in the UAE, the Sultanate of Oman and Qatar. Oman Insurance Company appointed Prototype to re-design and develop their corporate website.
Improving the user experienceThe Challenge
The previous website was not up to standards in terms of content, design and usability.
The entire information architecture had to be re-designed in order to present the large amount of product information, online services and corporate information in an intuitive way. The main goal was to create an online sales tool for Oman Insurance Company and their products and services.
Digital brandingThe Design
Prototype created an entirely new online brand for Oman Insurance Company which was aligned to the corporate brand guidelines, but included new brand elements and enhancements.
The design focused on a very clean approach and an information architecture which would guide users to the content they are looking for based on their personal profile. New icons and images where created especially for the website which would help to communicate the core messages as well as create a bespoke look and feel for the new website.
Project approachThe Process
Prototype started with a detailed content analysis of existing product and website information.
During this step content that had to be created from scratch or had to be enhanced was identified and re-written into a consolidated format. This resulted in a step by step approach for product information as well as a segregation of the navigation based on customer types. A scalable and flexible Content Management Solution was required and therefore the website was developed on Sitefinity Enterprise Edition, which gives the product team great flexibility to update and create content over time. The website received fantastic reviews from customers that now could easily find out more about the products and services. For Oman Insurance Company this means the website turned into an online sales tool generating leads and acts as a self-serving platform for their customers.
